Alert Policies

Leankoala alerts are a flexible way to get informed whenever there is an incident found on a system under test. You can manage alert policies and notification channels. An alert policy defines what kind of alerts (severity, system, tool) are sent, the connected notification channel defines how and where to send the data.

Notification Channels

Notification channels are the endpoints where an alert is sent to. Leankoala is able to send alerts to email addresses, slack channels or webhooks.

Group messages

Not all alerts are equally important. Sometimes it is ok to get some alerts only once a day as a grouped email. The possible intervals are immediately, hourly, daily and weekly. Daily alerts are sent at midnight every day, weekly alerts every Monday.

At the moment grouping is only possible for email notification channels.

Best Practice

We recommend creating more than one alert policy. We often start with two. One that sends all alerts with a high severity that get send immediately. The other handles all medium and low severity checks and groups them on a daily basis.

Send alerts if ...

The "send alerts if" feature defines if an alert should be sent if an incident gets opened or if it should wait for some errors in a row. This can come handy when there are incidents that pop up and are closed before you can react.

Notify if acknowledged

If you want to get informed when a user acknowledges an incident and takes care of it this option must be checked.

At the moment this feature only works for slack.

Filters

Not all incidents are interesting for every alert recipient. That is why the messages can be filtered. The filters can be for severities, tool and system.
